Not pleasant enough to my ears and the keys feel a bit to cheap for me. Anyone who owns a ES920 or one in the CA-series who can help me?You can’t do it with just the usb cable, it doesn’t have usb audio like your 3000 does.Joined: Nov 2006Posts: 1,6831000 Post Club Member1000 Post Club MemberJoined: Nov 2006Posts: 1,683Hi! I am thinking of buying a kawai digital piano, but my main concern is whether or not I can connect my laptop, silence the output sound from the keyboard itself and instead feed the sound from my laptops VST back to the digital piano to just hear the VST-sound in the internal speakers. I'm contemplating either the Kawai ES920 or saving up for a CA901. I've read the manuals but I can't get my head around if this VST-routing to the speakers with keyboard sounds muted is possible. It's possible with my current Casio PXS-3000 which is the main reason why I keep it even though I find the built-in piano sound is not pleasant enough to my ears and the keys feel a bit to cheap for me. Anyone who owns a ES920 or one in the CA-series who can help me?Yes it’s very easy.On the CA models you just run an audio cable from your laptop, connected via an audio interface or laptop internal sound card if it’s a good one, unlikely, into the audio in 3mm socket on piano. Make sure to turn off local control in piano menu.Regarding the es920, I see no point in playing vsts through the speaker system on that as headphones would be far superior to say the least, the es920 speaker system is not great at all for vst playing.Last edited by mwf; 11/26/24 03:57 PM.Joined: Sep 2007Posts: 19,38810K Post Club Member10K Post Club MemberJoined: Sep 2007Posts: 19,388You can’t do it with just the usb cable, it doesn’t have usb audio like your 3000 does.I'm not sure the PX-S3000 features a USB audio interface. Has abnormally small ones and he really enjoyed the idea of not having to order a custom set for his earbuds to fit right. So although these are generally meant for sport, I really like the physical design and find that it makes earbuds more accessible for those with alternative anatomy that makes hearing difficult, and for those like my wife who hate the tipped earbuds. Something else that I really enjoyed about the ergonomics of the OpenFit 2, was that I was able to wear these while laying my head on a cushion or in bed without having to feel the bud press deeper into my ear. Now that we have covered all of the groundwork here… how do they sound? Well, the short answer is pretty good! Something I wanted to touch on first was just how interesting / unique the OpenShock 2’s sound… as they aren’t firing the sound directly into your ear but more ‘bouncing’ sound into your ears. This gives a really pleasant concert-esque sound that really just has to be tried to understand. It almost makes the music / podcast / video sound like it is actually coming from a larger speaker. Obviously, the counter to not having a physical bud that goes into your ear, there is no noise canceling. Passive or active, there is really no external sound dampening. That being said, erroneous sounds are only as bad as your environment, but there is no stopping them if they do exist outside WARNING! This is just a study guide for those who are at the learning stage. You must learn how to pronounce the Arabic letters from a qualified person! HOLD YOUR MOUSE ON THE LETTER TO SEE THE PRONOUNCIATION (Don't click.) PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING EXPLANATION FIRSTPlease be careful while pronouncing the FATHA, e.g., the "a" sound. For example, the "a" in "wa" should be pronounced like "e" in "went". Likewise, all the "a" in the sura should produce an "a" sound like "e" in "went". Some Fatha produces an "a" sound like "a" in English word "art". For example, "a" in Arabic word "qawl" is like "a" in art. All "a" in the sura should produce a variation of the "a" sound in "art". Sometimes "a" is little softer like "la" in "la miserables or Labrador." Sometimes it is a little longer, e.g. it is written with two "aa" so it produces a little longer "a" like longer "a" in English word "far." The "a" sound in Arabic words "maa" or "laa" are the "a" sound in "far". Ayn with fatha is represented by "'A". Ayn with sukuun is represented by "'Å".KASRAs should produce a "i" sound like "i" in "sin". Ayn with kasra is represented by "'I".DAMMA should produce a "u" sound like "u" in "do" or sometimes little softer like "u" sound in "you". Mostly the "u" sound is like the sound produced by the "oo" in English. The sound produced depends on the letter, e.g., if the letter is a soft letter like b,h,y,s the "u" sound will also be softer. For example, "bu" will be like in "boon" or "su" will be like in "soon". Ayn with damma is represented by "'U". Gear Addict Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 356 🎧 10 years Soundtoys Radiator and Devil-loc, still good today? I have already demoed this a while ago but unfortunately didnt had the time to test them in a full mix. Asking for basic opinions from anyone who is familiar with this units sound, weight and usefullness during mixdown, who has had the chance to compare to the newer analog modeled stuff like Sly-fi, MJUC, clariphonic mkii, Acqua/nebula,etc.Wouldnt mind some fresh opinions on decapitator also. Thanks a lot! Lives for gear Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 1,955 🎧 15 years I never really got the hang of Devil-loc while I was demo'ing it, but I really like Radiator. It's a bit of a one trick pony but I love what it does. When I want "that" sound it's just perfect. Enough control for some sound shaping but not so much as to get lost in endless tweaking. A lot of the newer saturator are more flexible but (in my experience) most won't quite do what Radiator does. For that matter the saturation in EchoBoy is quite special as well. It's all a matter of taste of course but aside from SoundToys the UBK/SlyFi stuff is the only other saturation plugins that I really dig. Well... OK, I do still occasionally use the bx_saturator but that's more for brightness enhancement.p.s. I do also use Decapitator. Though honestly if I had discovered earlier how to use EchoBoy as a saturator I might have skipped Decapitator. Decapitator is good but I find it a bit trickier to dial it in. The range of its controls go way beyond what I ever use. It does beautiful things to kick drums! Gear Addict Joined: Jul 2012 Posts: 356 🎧 10 years Thanks a lot for that comprehensive reply, Sparqee! Super simple, but it can be unwieldy in its extreme sound. The mix knob is your friend. *laughing*Soundtoys... No matter

The day of initiation. When the Quan Yin messenger gave the instructions, I listened attentively and I, therefore, immediately had experiences. Upon meditating on the (Inner Heavenly) Light, I felt that my body was so hot as though there were thousands of sun rays shining inside my body. I saw yellow sparks of fire flying out and soaring all over. Upon meditating on the (Inner Heavenly) Sound, I heard the sound of thunder and the sound of ocean waves roaring during a thunderstorm.”“I have been initiated and practiced the Quan Yin Method for two years. […] When I was about to go into Samadhi, I heard a loud (inner Heavenly) Sound inside. It was a big concert in which a lot of instruments were playing.”ETC…Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has explained the nature of the Sound current and the Light of God.“In many religious scriptures, if anyone cares to do the comparative religious study, they will find it. It’s always mentioned about the Sound current and the Light of God. Even in the Christian Bible. So ‘God spoke in the sound of many waters, like the sound of thunder,’etc., and St. John, during His deep meditation, He ascended to Heaven, He heard the sound of trumpets, etc., etc. (Yes, the [inner Heavenly] Sound drew Him up and then He described visions of Heavens. I think of the “Book of Revelation” as a kind of out-of-body experience as well.) That’s true, yes. We all know that, whoever practices the Sound and Light meditation, they have this kind of experience anyway. It’s just the method that I imparted, we have it right away, the (inner Heavenly) Sound and Light, immediately at the time of so-called initiation. And if we do it alone, sometimes it takes years or a lifetime to be able to contact this Light or this Sound. But if you have somebody who already has the (inner Heavenly) Light and Sound within him or herself, it’s just like a torch passed, rekindle another torch, it’s fast.”In the Bible, spiritual rebirth, also known as being born again, is a profound and transformative. Has taught us that we NEED students reading whole passages AS SOON AS POSSIBLE and this is simply not true, especially for students in Kindergarten and first grade who are still struggling to blend sounds to read whole words. For these students, word level automaticity is essential, before they can tackle something like a whole passage. To do this, have students read 10-20 CVC words each day. Continue spiral reviewing so that students see the same words each day and have an opportunity to build automaticity. Remember, we don’t just want them to sound out words and say the word accurately like this (/p/ /o/ /p/ pop), we want them to look at the word and say “pop”. This is also an opportunity to remind students what a closed syllable is. When the vowel is blocked in by the last consonant in a word, the vowel sound is short. This is key, because when students are presented with nonsense words, many of them will use the long vowel sound rather than the short vowel sound. This practice is a staple for all K-1 students, whether they are automatic in letter sounds or not. CVC slide decks support word level automaticity. Vowel sound automaticityVowels are typically the thing that trips kids up the most. For this reason, no matter what, review vowel sounds daily. I use vowel tents for this practice, because it is quick and low prep. Simply take a 3 x 5 index card, fold it in half, and write the vowel on each half. Set the folded “vowel tents” in front of you and the students. With a pencil or pointer, point to a vowel and have the student say the sound (visual drill). Increase speed for automaticity. If I have a student who regularly confuses two vowel sounds, I will emphasize these sounds by going back and forth between the two quickly, to help with automaticity. Then, I do the reverse, asking students to listen to me say the sound and point to the correct letter (auditory drill). I do this with almost all of my intervention students. Vowels trip up everyone, and this activity takes less than a minute sometimes. Don’t leave it out!CVC word level review activitiesWhen students read CVC words automatically, it means they have orthographically mapped the words and no longer have to sound them out, because a mental representation of the word is stored in the brain. Practices like word chains, phoneme-grapheme mapping, and fluency grids, all support the goal of acquiring the alphabetic principle and being able to read CVC words automatically. Try them out with my CVC review pack if you need a print and go option to support this work. CVC decoding and encoding activities support word level automaticity as well! Final ThoughtsI’d love to know if you have tried any of these activities with your students. The key is, daily repetition. You don’t want to do the visual drill on Monday, and successive blending on Tuesday, and word
