SimpleLink™ CC13XX/CC26XX SDKThread User's Guide Required Hardware¶It is recommended to use the CC2531 USB Dongle with Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer. The device comes pre-programmed with the packet sniffer firmware. However, ifit is not programmed with the sniffer firmware, the CC-Debugger is requiredto flash the device. The Cebal driver must be installed to use the CC-Debugger. The driver shouldalready be installed if you have installed Flash Programmer. This can beverified by connecting a device to the debugger, opening up FlashProgrammer, and observing the device showing up as connected.Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer also provides the necessary files for installing the Cebal driver. The installation files are found under C:\Program Files(x86)\Ubilogix\Drivers\TI\, with cebal2.* files for 32-bit Windows andcebal2_x64.* files for 64-bit Windows. Depending on which Windows versionyou are using, refer to a corresponding guide for how to install Windowsdrivers.Hardware Setup¶Connect the CC2531 USB Dongle to the computer with Ubiqua installed. If the device is not programmed with the sniffer firmware, connect aCC-Debugger to it and use Flash Programmer to program the snifferfirmware. The firmware image for CC2531 is calledsniffer_fw_cc2531.hex, and is found under bin/general/firmwarein the SmartRF Protocol Packet Sniffer installation.Refer to the CC-Debugger User’s Guide for how to flash the firmware.Running the Packet Sniffer¶Connect the CC2531 USB Dongle.Start Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer.Select Device → Add Device, and choose the CC2531.Figure 40. Discussion Code: CAN SNIFFERCategory: LoggerInterface Type: USB - RS232Input Type: AnalogDescriptionFeaturesCAN Sniffer is a control unit which can be interfaced and monitoring a CAN bus by USB (in this case the card is self-powered) or RS232 interfaces. Its configuration is achieved either through USB (in this case the board is self powered) or through RS232 interface. Beside acting as a sniffer while it is connected to a PC, the system can work as a stand-alone device and save till 8.000 CAN messages (1.024 kbit) on its inner non-volatile memory.Easy to use and to configure, thanks to the provided software. CAN Sniffer can be immediately used with any CAN BUS, thanks its fully configurability.Customizable parameters are:High-speed / Low-speed.Baudrate.Address.This card is manufactured with small and practices size, 100 x 70 mm (3.94 x 2.76 inc), to be easily integrated in several systems.CAN-Sniffer is provided with a configuration and control software for Windows XP, Vista and 7.General technical featuresPower supply:USB mode: self powered through USBRS232 mode: 7.5-30 VDCWorking temperature: from 0°C up to +60°CStorage temperature: from -40°C up to +85°CInterfaces toward PC: 1 USB port type B, compatible with USB2.0 and RS232Card dimensions: 160 100 x 70 mm (3,94 x 2,76 inches)CAN interface:Compatible with standard CAN 2.0B Active SpecifcationConfigurable High-speed o Low-speedProgrammable Baudrate (up to 1MB/s)Programmable reception filters (available for extended and standard frame)Card insulation (selectable) >1014 ΩMaximum applicable voltage (CAN-board): 150VRMSTransceiver power supply: 5VDCAdditional DocumentsComments
