It's killing me! Please help... I'm having a similar issue. I am on a Note 9 with the Pie update. After installing the update, I did a factory reset to start fresh. Not sure if there's a setting that controls this, but I can't find anything. Volume controls work when the screen is locked but play/pause and skipping tracks does not work in certain situations that I have not figured out. Same issue with wired or wireless headphones. It seems like it's just Spotify, but I'm not sure. If I leave Spotify playing in the background while the screen is locked and then try to pause it, it will not pause. Sometimes it's instant, and sometimes it stops working after playing for awhile. I have tried it with Pandora and do not have issues with it.Another glitch is that sometimes my music will stop streaming and I'll lose my spot in podcasts using Spotify. I am willing to bet that it's an overall glitch with Spotify. #5 Same here with Spotify stopping randomly and restarting. I now think it's more of a Spotify issue not fully compatible with Pie? Not sure. #6 I had this, but it was fixed with the Spotify update last night for me. #7 Finally fixed it! Got the latest update 8.4.96.953 and then had to go to Settings>Device Care>Battery. Under Optimization, Spotify was listed to put to sleep immediately. I turned this option and all works just fine! WHEW! lol #8 Thank you for posting Monee_121,

Bet That - EP by LAYA - Spotify

Rubi Rose is an American artist who first gained fame for appearing on Migos’ 2016 video for their song Bad and Boujee. A couple of years later, she announced herself as a future star after a song she did with Playboi Carti leaked. Rose verse on On Top gave a preview of the deep voice and catchy lyrics that would eventually take Atlanta and America by storm. Rose’s biggest hit so-far is the TikTok friendly song Big Mouth. It has over 10 million views on YouTube and over 8 million streams on Spotify. Rubi told XXL that she wants to be like Madonna. She has set a very high target, but it would be unwise to bet against her. This piece will look at Ruby’s parents, relationships, controversies, and why she chooses to remain single. Rubi’s strict upbringing by her Eritrean mom helped prepare her for the tough music industryRubi Rose was born in Lexington, Kentucky, to Eritrean parents. She lived in Geneva, Switzerland, for a while with her mom’s family before returning to the US. Rose and her family moved from Lexington to Atlanta during her junior year of high school. It was a culture shock for Rubi as she wasn’t used to the urban lifestyle in Atlanta. In Atlanta, Rose saw an opportunity to make it big in the entertainment industry. Rubi was raised by a strict mom who initially didn’t support Ruby’s decision to become a musician. However, with time, she appreciated Ruby’s passion and commitment to music. Ruby. To the streaming service.“The plan here is to offer a much better version of Spotify,” Ek said.“Something like $5 above the current Premium tier… sort of a deluxe version of Spotify that has all of the benefits that the normal Spotify version has, but a lot more control, a lot higher quality across the board, and some other things that I’m not ready to talk about just yet.”Though Ek was reluctant to get into details, he floated a possible $17 or $18 per month price point. It’s widely expected that the super-premium tier will (finally) give Spotify listeners access to high-fidelity audio, and it may also include features such as “superfan clubs.”We also have some market research on the plan’s potential, courtesy of UMG.“Our research and analysis indicate that as many as 20% of the current subscriber base could upgrade to a super-premium tier at a meaningfully higher price point for a compelling product configuration, one which offers enhanced features and exclusive access to content,” Muir told analysts.Given that Spotify reported 246 million paying subscribers in Q2 2024, UMG’s estimate implies that some 49.2 million of them would sign up for super-premium.And if that plan does, indeed, cost $5 more per month than the standard Premium tier, that translates to $2.952 billion in additional annual revenue for Spotify. (Assuming that the super-premium tier will cost $5 more than Premium in all markets, which is not necessarily a safe bet.)And assuming that Spotify pays out two-thirds of its revenue to music rights holders, that number would represent additional revenues of $1.966 billion to the music industry. So the end of the streaming boom may not yet be at hand…3) UMG sees 180 million potential new streaming sign-ups in top marketsBesides the potential of “super-premium tiers,” UMG is of the opinion that there’s still plenty of room for more sign-ups to music streaming services, including in mature, developed markets. In UMG’s market research, “we’ve identified an addressable market of over 180 million consumers that will form the next wave of subscription adoption” within the top 19 music markets, UMG Chief Digital Officer Michael Nash [94

His fortune in affiliate marketing, is quoted as recalling.) Other streaming services such as Imeem, PressPlay, and Spinner had tried countering the pay-to-own model of Apple’s iTunes Store. The major labels negotiated tentative treaties with these early players, capping monthly streams and making only some of their content available. But by the mid-2000s, it was clear that these were merely half measures. Spotify settled on its model at just the right time: Reeling from plummeting CD revenue and the rise of file sharing, the music industry was suddenly open to software offering access to tens of millions of songs, engineered to play tracks instantly and without limits. The major labels signed over their libraries in exchange for massive concessions: dedicated advertising space, guaranteed minimum revenues, shares in Spotify’s business. The biggest labels—Sony, Universal, and Warner—were betting that Spotify could make a product more compelling than piracy. The bet paid off. As Spotify became the most successful music streamer on Earth, the American music industry stanched the bleeding, and revenues rebounded to pre-internet levels.Once Spotify built its audience, it wanted to keep users on its app as long as possible. According to Mood Machine, the company’s data indicated that a huge portion of its streams came from “passive listening,” an increasing percentage of which involved functional music: songs designed to enhance everyday activities—meditation, answering emails, even sleeping—without sticking out too much. Where other services had experimented with exclusives from pop A-listers, Spotify’s playlist editors began churning out “chill” mixes populated with songs from mostly anonymous ambient- and instrumental-hip-hop producers. These artists found that placing the right song on the right functional playlist could pay their rent, though a “hit” rarely implied an active fandom outside the platform. Playlists enabled musicians to earn a living without cutting in record labels or PR pros,
