If you want to enable 5.1 channel, you would need to have a digital audio decoder or a special driver (I guess you probably have Nahimic installed on your old system...?) to convert digital audio signal into analog 5.1 audio signal. My desktops, and still am), but the U3 software support died with Windows 10, and Windows 11 doesn't support it. The D2X does work in Windows 11 without issues though. For my laptops, I moved to a Sound Blaster X3, and that's been satisfactory for the most part. The U3 was the best though overall. The X3 seems to drop the connection if there's a break between audio, and that can be annoying. But I've not had a single issue getting full digital output. And the best part is the X3, like the U3 and D2X both upconvert stereo to 5.1 channel sound.....which some people don't want or care about but I do.... #15 I'm wondering what steps or audio drivers I need to take or install to regain this functionality. I've downloaded the latest drivers ( - Realtek HD Universal Driver 6.0.9618.1 2023-12-21 - 106.49 MB) and installed the Realtek control panel as suggested on this page, but no luck. several days late in responding to this but MSI has updated the Realtek audio driver to version 6.0.9629.1 last Monday, 2024-01-29.btw, the only way you could get Dolby Digital / DDL / DTS interactive / DTS connect stuff to work on your MSI board is to use a modded unlocked Realtek audio driver from this other forum instead of using the official un-modded Realtek audio drivers from the MSI web site (use at your own risk as they may not work for some users).
