Real Temp or Core Temp?

I’ve tracked the problem down and eliminated it, so now everything is back to normal again. The other fixes are minor, and self explanatory. The New FeaturesCore Temp’s main window layout was rearranged, and now includes two new fields: “Lithography” and “Clock modulation”. Lithography is self explanatory: it displays the size of the manufacturing process of the CPU such as 45 nm, 65 nm or 32 nm. Clock modulation – currently supported only on Intel processors – is a feature which lets the processor run at a certain fraction of it’s real frequency. If we take a 3 GHz CPU, running with a clock modulation of 50%, we effectively have a 1.5 GHz CPU. This is often used to cut down on processor power consumption and temperature. Now for the really cool stuff! Core Temp now implements support for Windows 7’s new taskbar features. In the Options menu you will find a “Windows 7 Taskbar” item, by clicking it you will be presented with the following dialog:Windows 7 Taskbar settings" data-image-caption="Windows 7 Taskbar settings" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" tabindex="0" role="button" data-src=" alt="Windows 7 Taskbar settings" width="300" height="160" data-srcset=" 300w, 326w, 358w" data-sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px">Windows 7 Taskbar SettingsCore Temp will now, if enabled, place a progress bar in the taskbar button and a small icon showing the current mode (the small icon will only be displayed if your taskbar buttons are not set to “Small”) There are 3 modes and a 4th option is to rotate between these 3 modes at a user determined interval. Smoke adds flavor to your game!Moose (alces alces) hunting season in Finland this year starts on 13th of October and lasts until 31st of December. Number of mooses hunted varies between 58.000 – 85.000 annually. You can find moose meat on good quality shops for a short period of time. Still, most often the best parts are consumed by hunters or sold directly to existing network of private customers. This time I got a hold of 2 ½ lb (1100g) moose sirloin.Venison tends to be very lean and moose is not an exception. When grilled, it should be left medium rare. Target temp for the meat is 140°F (60°C), but you can go as high as 150°F (65°C). Go higher, meat will get tough, dry and chewy.Seasoning is simple. I use kosher salt, black pepper and rosemary. Thyme is also good. Smoke adds nice flavor to venison. I like to use apple or cherry wood and go quite easy. In my opinion, too much smoke kills original venison flavor.I have smoked moose number of times in my Weber Smokey Mountain. Cooking time in 230°F (110°C) was about 2hrs. However, this time I used my ceramic kamado and moose was ready in 1hr. Cooking temp was 265°F (130°C) so you really need a good thermometer to follow the progress.Once cooked, I let the moose sirloin rest in foil for half an hour. Here are the instructions:Clean moose sirloin from membrane and any hard lumps of fatSeason all over with salt, black pepper and rosemaryPut in the fridge for an hour or twoPrepare your kamado for indirect grillingWhen grill temp reaches 265°F (130°C) put good chunk of apple wood on top of the hot coalsPlace sirloin on the grate on top of the heat deflectorOnce meat temp hits 125°F (52°C), move sirloin on top of the direct heat for searingSear 2 – 3 minutes / sideMeat temp should now be around 135°F (57°C)Wrap sirloin in foil and let reast for half an hour. Meat temp will carry over to desired 140°F (60°C)Unwrap, carve and enjoy! As you can see, smoking moose sirloin is much about monitoring temperatures. Good thermometer will make your cooking simple and fun. And bad thermometer will drive you mad, so pay attention to this!Happy smoking!. #1 Real Temp 3.00 was released today at techPowerUp! "RealTemp got its major face-lift today with the introduction of the third major version. RealTemp is a nifty utility used to monitor the temperatures of Intel processors, with a breakdown of temperatures on a per-core and T-junction basis. The application makes use of the digital thermal sensor component Intel Core series processors come with. With version 3.00, RealTemp gets Core i7 friendly, supporting monitoring of its temperatures, including in Turbo Mode, where the software controls frequencies and power of individual processing cores. The new release adds a host of features including plug-in support for RivaTuner, the ability to report temperatures of NVIDIA graphics cards, updated detection algorithms as per Intel specifications, and several UI improvements. The release covers as many as a hundred changes that include preliminary support for the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system. For a list of major changes and other information, head over to the RealTemp" Download techPowerUp! :: Download Real Temp 3.00Homepage Real Temp - CPU temperature monitoring Installation and Calibration Real Temp - Documentation Interesting read on TJMax values, especially this part; "Based on my testing and reports from users, a 5C difference doesn't seem too unusual with 65nm and TJMax might vary by 10C in the 45 nm CPUs. The result is that two CPUs with the exact same model number might have different TJMax values and it also seems that there are situations where cores on the same CPU can have different TJMax values. For the 45nm processors, TJ Target and TJ Max seem to be similar but for the older 65nm CPUs, actual TJ Max can be 10C or higher for many processors." #3 Thanks for the info - sticky updated.

CoreTemp.ini file manually or pasting a new value into the field. The options are really straightforward:Temperature" data-image-caption="Temperature" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" tabindex="0" role="button" title="ct997-temp" data-src=" alt="Temperature" width="60" height="50">TemperatureFrequency" data-image-caption="Frequency" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" tabindex="0" role="button" title="ct997-frequency" data-src=" alt="Frequency" width="61" height="49">FrequencyCPU Load" data-image-caption="CPU Load" data-medium-file=" data-large-file=" tabindex="0" role="button" title="ct997-load" data-src=" alt="CPU Load" width="61" height="50">CPU LoadTemperature. The range is from 0 – TjMax value for Intel and 0 – 100 for AMD processors. The color of the progress bar will change as the temperature increases: to yellow and then to red if it reaches critical temperature.Frequency. The range is from 0 – current maximum frequency. You
