“And remember Puss, death comes for us all.”—The Doctor's last words to Puss. The Doctor is a minor character in the movie Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. He is the local doctor, barber, veterinarian, dentist and witchfinder of Del Mar. Appearance[]He is a tall, decently fit Spanish man, with poofy hair surrounding a bald spot on his head. He has a goatee and mustache. He wears a blue shirt with a single collar button over top of a green long-sleeve undershirt. He has specs that have specific lens that he can interchange depending on what he's doing with his patients. He also wears a "doctor's hat" that has a small candle holder, similar to the head mirror that doctors are known for wearing.Personality[]He is a humble, easy-going man, who seems to care for his patients and wants them to be in the best health. He is also high-spirited, and tends to have a big smile on his face when running tests on his patients. When a patient refuses a particular test/treatment, he doesn't push.While he, according to Puss, "needs to work on his bedside manner", he is shown to be able to give reasonable advice and even hands out treats after a check-up (which Puss views as tactless after being warned his next death would be his last). Oddly, he doesn't mind having leeches down his shirtfront.Movies[]Puss in Boots: The Last Wish[]After Puss in Boots is crushed by a large bell, he wakes up in the Doctor's Office, where the doctor informs Puss that he died. While initially appearing to be shocked by the revelation, Puss laughs it off, being a cat who possesses nine lives, and indeed, has died and come back to life before. The Doctor then asks him how many times he has died prior to this. Puss recounts the circumstances of his many deaths, realizing that his most recent one was his eighth, and that he only has one life left. The Doctor then suggests that Puss retire to Mama Luna’s Cat Rescue to live out the rest of his final life. However, Puss initially rejects the doctor's suggestion, stating that he will never retire.Gallery[]Trivia[]His use of a shaman stick heavily implies that he practices Shamanism.In early stages of the film's development, he was the son of Mama Luna.

But Puss in Boots: The Last Wish might have done well to focus more on its characters, both familiar and new, and less on the nonstop action. The chase and fight scenes are visually impressive, but, narratively, they get old quickly. What doesn't get old is Puss' smug confidence in his feline fierceness and "fearless hero" status -- or adorable newcomer Perrito's innate goodness. It's almost a letdown when the fantabulous opening musical number gives way to a traditional chase and fight scene. The voice cast -- led by Banderas, love interest Hayek, and newcomer Guillén as the charming chihuahua -- is once again purr-fect. And the movie throws in quite a bit of Spanish in ways both natural (exclamations) and complementary (the soundtrack).The music is one of the film's standout elements. Overseen by Brazilian composer Heitor Pereira, the soundtrack ranges from original pieces sung by Pereira and Banderas or Latin American stars like Gaby Moreno and Karol G to reworked classics, like a Spanish-infused version of The Doors' "The
