I'm afraid Apple doesn't 'love' us back...I have an old iMac which runs fine on Sierra. I just had it repaired because I cannot afford a new iMac. Now I am told by Apple that Sierra is really old (only a few years old I think). So I am forced to buy a new computer because I can't use my iPhone on Itunes? Come on Apple... Dec 5, 2019 3:56 PM in response to ckuan I have spent a long time trying to discover the reason why my iPhone 6s, updated to ios 13, wouldn't connect to my iTunes 12.8.2.3. . on ios Sierra. In the end I had a long talk to the Apple helpdesk twice and they told me it wasn't possible. I had to update to Catalina or at least to Mojave. Which I can't.So please don't tell me I am not correct but explain why it works with you. Jan 8, 2020 9:44 AM in response to Demo I'm experiencing the exact same thing as you TinCanSwinger. Older iMac than yours tho, (High Sierra, (10.13.6, mid 2010, iTunes 12.8.2.3). iMac saw my 6s but doesn't see my iphone 8 (running latest ios) - and I have tried everything. Old imac's it seems are not compatible with "newer" iphones (even my 8). System information and Photos, btw, see the iphone 8 just fine. Just not iTunes. My early 2011 MacBook, however, see's the iphone 8 just fine, even with a slightly older version of itunes (12.8.0.150). To use the iPhone with my mid 2010, iMac altho it runs perfectly fine, it seems I'll have to upgrade :( Oct 1, 2019 1:30 AM in response. If there’s a new iTunes update, select Update next to iTunes.
