MIDIOUT2 Topic: Keylab 88 MKii Key Noise (Read 3262 times) Over the past couple of year my Kaylab 88 mkii physical keyboard has gone from wonderfully quiet to very irritatingly noisy. What can I do to restore the keys to eliminate this increasing noise? If this problem can't be solved, I'll be selling my instrument on eBay as I use it for live Classical music performance and need my keyboard quiet. Logged Welcome. My Mk1 has gone the same way, I attribute it to the sound-deadening material on the Fatar keybed becoming less 'cushiony' over time. I've thought about going inside to replace it. In the past I have had success with replacing the original sound-deadening on other keybeds with self-adhesive draught-excluder strips intended for doors.EDIT: here's a YouTube link (no affiliation to me or Arturia) explaining what happens and how to fix it. Obviously you do this at your own risk: « Last Edit: December 21, 2021, 01:36:09 pm by MajorFubar » Logged 2022 Apple Studio Max 32/32/2TB Monterey • V Collection 9 • Analog Lab 4 + 5 • KeyLab 88 • KeyStep What is a realistic time frame to expect the keybed to remain in a good condition? But if you have a noisy key straight out of the box then return it for an exchange. If you would dial in the "same" sound on all available emulations, as well as the original, possibly a few owners of the real CS-80 could tell them apart. i9-10900K | 128GB DDR4 | RTX 3090 | Arturia AudioFuse/KeyLab mkII/SparkLE | PreSonus ATOM/ATOM SQ | Studio One | Reason | Bitwig Studio | Reaper | Renoise | FL Studio | ~900 VSTs | 300+ REs Uncle E Uncle E KVRAF 18168 posts since 22 Nov, 2000 from Southern California Contact: Personally, the XILS gives me a brilliance that I've been lacking in all my plugins and even most analogs.
