Chuck Horner: Introduction (01:10) FREE PREVIEWHorner, the son of an Army soldier, was born in Iowa and became fascinated with aeronautics after an airplane ride. He earned a pilot's license through an Air Force ROTC program and made flying a career. Horner's Early Life (01:55) Horner was born in 1936 in Davenport, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa, earned his pilot's license through an ROTC program, joined the Air Force, and got married; he completed pilot training in 1959. Horner received jet fighter training overseas. Vietnam Conflict (02:37) In 1965, America was entrenched in the conflict. Horner wanted an assignment in the bombing campaign to gain aerial combat experience; he recalls his first mission in North Vietnam. Horner returned to the U.S. to train combat pilots. Fighter Aviation (03:24) Horner returned to combat in May 1967 as part of the Wild Weasel Program. In September, he was assigned to the Fighter Weapon's Center; he helped implement mission elements such as aggressor squadrons, AWACS, and Red Flag. Horner earned the rank of colonel and served in several positions. Operation Desert Shield (03:35) In August 1990, Iraq invaded Kuwait and Saddam Hussein installed the Provisional Free Government. General Normal Schwarzkopf led the U.S. military response; Horner discussed strategic air operations with Schwarzkopf. Strategic Offensive Air Power (02:56) Horner and his aids developed an attack plan; air power was the driving strategy for Desert Storm. Horner recalls talking with Schwarzkopf about starting the war; see footage of the bombing campaign. Real Time Radar Intelligence (03:44) After 10 days of air strikes, Hussein mobilized three armor infantry divisions; Joint Stars successfully thwarted the plan. In February 1991, Allied Forces began a ground defensive and liberated Kuwait within four days. Horner's Later Career (02:16) Horner was promoted to a four star general after Desert Storm and named commander of the Air Force Space Command. In retirement, Horner co-authored a book and continues to fly. He reflects on being of service to his country. Recorded in the Bible, just like I would if I was looking up the readings in my paper Bible. It seems silly to think that it would be anywhere else, but we thought it was great that the readings kept you in the bible app, and took you to the chapter and verse. The Catholic bible app keeps track of what you have read, here is a screen of the daily readings. We love that there is a link to the daily readings, that takes you to the chapters and verse in the bible app, and not somewhere else. The Reading Plan tool is also really great as it allows you to develop a plan for selecting and reading through scripture based on a topic or schedule. I love this idea! In the app you can select different reading plans and they go for different durations. (You can sort by alphabetical or length). Many of them are just seven days long. Again it is very easy to use. Once you select a reading plan, it simply keeps track of the days you’ve completed the readings (because you mark off if it is complete or not). After you go through all of the days you get another check mark for completing it. Some of the great reading plans offered are :Marriage (7 days)Pregnancy (7 days)Purpose (7 days)Tithe (7 days)Worship (7 days)I read through a couple of reading plans and they are great. These aren’t prewritten reflections, it is just the word of God. I was. To the ground. The man tries to use an hatchet to attack her, but Kitty with a double kick sends him into his endless bag and locks him inside, trapping him. After the battle between Puss and Death, "Big" Jack Horner reemerges from the endless bag after eating an "Eat Me" cookie, growing large as a giant. After taking the map from Puss and Kitty, he prepares to grant his wish to take all magic, but just before succeeding he is distracted by Perrito who, using his bewitching gaze, tries to convince him to give up his wish. Jack Horner does not fall into the trap because he defines himself as "dead inside", but Perrito confesses that it was just a way to distract him so that the "Team Friendship" could attack him. In fact, with a combined attack Puss, Kitty, Goldilocks and Baby Bear manage to take the map from Jack Horner's hand and, having recovered it, Puss, Kitty and Goldi destroy it just before Jack could recover it, as they no longer need the wish already having what they want. Jack Horner is desperate and tries to recover the pieces of the map as the Wishing Star collapses and everyone flees. Jack manages to recover most of it, but a piece is taken by the Talking Cricket who, resigning his conscience, uses the Phoenix to destroy it, causing the destruction of the map and the total collapse of the star.
