Walt and Jesse would look pretty badass in their yellow hazmat suits, while Gus and Tuco wouldn’t look out of place hunting down enemy players on the Fortnite island. Fans of Breaking Bad also suggested other popular TV series characters such as Homelander and Soldier Boy from The Boys, The Doctor from Doctor Who, and even the Winchester brothers from Supernatural. Each series has massive fandoms full of very dedicated fans who sprint to the Item Shop if a crossover ever happens. The TARDIS is just crying out to be a Fortnite glider, right? Fortnite showing up in mainstream media is nothing new. Although let's be honest, at this point, Fortnite is mainstream media. Nevertheless, so far in 2019, Epic Games has been teaming up with numerous other franchises in order to bring them to Fortnite Island. A Marvel collab allowed players to use Avenger weapons in-game, and a few weeks later those same players were granted the opportunity to assume the identity of John Wick. Those two big-time collaborations were no coincidence. They both happened at a time when the related movie studios were releasing blockbusters in theaters. For Marvel, it was Avengers: Endgame and in terms of John Wick, it was the third chapter of the action franchise, Parabellum. At E3, Epic revealed what crossover event is coming next, and it's a biggie. As reported by Game Rant, Epic has teamed up with Netflix in order to bring a Stranger Things event to Fortnite Island. In true Fortnite style, that is basically all the information we were given. There was no release date or details on what skins and LTMs might be coming along with it. However, we can assume that whatever the collaboration consists of, it will be landing on the island fairly soon. We're assuming that due to the release date of Stranger Things'sseason 3 on July 4, 2019, it's probably safe to assume that the crossover event will coincide with the release, and hopefully last a week or two. What we hadn't noticed is Epic hinted at this collab in-game before the announcement. It did so by adding the Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor to Fortnite's Mega Mall. The parlor features prominently in the trailer for the new season. Both Netflix and Stranger Things appear to be very keen to venture further into the gaming universe. Some fans have pretty out-of-the-box ideas about who they want to see in a future Fortnite collab. The Fortnite community on Reddit has been discussing which characters would make them throw money at Epic Games. Unfortunately for fans, some of these collab ideas will never happen due to strict intellectual property regulations. You will probably have an eternal wait if you want to see Pikachu, Mewtwo, or Charmander in your lobby. Nintendo is very protective of its characters, so a crossover is unlikely. Interestingly, the franchise mentioned most alongside Pokémon was manga series Yu-Gi-Oh! We have more chance of seeing Yugi Mutou in Fortnite than Ash, Jesse, or James. Since Fortnite has expanded its universe to more family-friendly and kid-centered features, Kermit and the gang wouldn’t be completely out of place. Everyone has their favorite Muppet (Gonzo The Great), so just imagine the range of cosmetics and outfits you could see from Animal with his drumsticks as a pickaxe to the Swedish Chef’s cooking up a crazy concoction in an emote. The popularity of The Muppets in Fortnite could then inspire more Jim Henson Company characters like Big Bird from Sesame Street or Boober and Gobo from Fraggle Rock.
