My Firefox browser 41.0.1 has started crashing every few minutes. This is a new problem since the 'upgrade' to El Capitan. Wondering if anyone else has encountered similar problems. MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Mail Posted on Oct 7, 2015 3:24 PM Oct 10, 2015 10:31 AM in response to profaen When using Firefox 41.0.1 my MBP has shutdown and restarted 2x so far. Frustrating! Not sure if there is a fix for this? Oct 14, 2015 3:17 PM in response to profaen Yes, Firefox is very unstable in 10.11. For me it is worst when opening a new window. If I keep one tab and only create new tabs it is more stable.Mainly I get a crash saying somehting about: libobjc.A.dylib@0x7e5dAs can be seen here: e_value=14&signature=libobjc.A.dylib%400x7e5d#tab-comments other people experience this as well (though there is still no bugreport for it on the Bugzilla tab). 100% of these reported crashes are on 10.11. Oct 14, 2015 3:49 PM in response to profaen There's a FIrefox 41.0.2 on the way but it isn't quite ready yet.😟 Oct 19, 2015 1:41 AM in response to profaen Same here. Firefox crashes about ten times a day. Often while opening a new window. Sometimes just in the background. Firefox update to 41.0.2 didn't help. Oct 19, 2015 2:20 AM in response to profaen The only Firefox 41.0.1 plug-in that I use is the current release of Firebug. For me, Firefox works flawlessly on El Capitan. Systematically remove any additions that you may have added to Firefox 41.0.1 to determine which one is causing the mischief. Oct 19, 2015 7:11 PM in response to profaen I am also having problems with firefox with el capitan also. Have to restart it all the time. Seems like it can't access the network after a while. Oct 24, 2015 1:21 AM in response to billtlee I've stopped using FireFox because the issues with El Capitan are so bad. With 10.11 it would randomly crash but it would not affect anything else and you could just go to the dock and start it again. In the "bug fix" update 10.11.1 a FireFox crash goes much deeper. If I try to relaunch FireFox the icon will just bounce in the dock. Activity Monitor will not show the process but Force Quit will. Force Quit will not, however, force quit it no matter what. At this point I cannot restart or shutdown, and have to do a hard reset via the power button.Side note: overall 10.11 was bad, 10.11.1 is even worse, and I'm contemplating a downgrade to Yosemite or Mavericks. Oct 24, 2015 3:43 AM in response to profaen Same for me. Often when i left FireFox open with no tab for ahile and i get back to the program it crashes. I think i've sent 50 crash reposrts so far.Same behavior for new tabs as described from others. Annoying... It's still present inComments

2025-04-15Mozilla's answer to software bug trackingAll developers will tell you that using an efficient, easy-to-use and reliable bug-tracking tool is one of the most important parts of their job.Bugzilla is Mozilla's system for reporting and tracking errors and bugs in web or software development. It is very easy to use and works in any web browser, although you will need an SQL database to use it. You can search errors instantly with the Bugzilla search engine, which can be switched from normal to advanced mode depending on how deep you want to go.As you'd expect from a Mozilla product, Bugzilla is extremely customizable. For example, you can add options such as activating email alerts for when changes are made, and set levels of permissions for who can access what. The overall usability of Bugzilla is what impresses the most. While many development tracking tools are complicated and end up creating more work than they save, Bugzilla keeps everything clean and simple. If it's good enough for Red Hat, Gnome and even NASA, then it shows what an excellent bug tracking tool Bugzilla is.This release fixes various important security issues. See the Security Advisory for details. In addition, the following important fixes/changes have been made in this release:Clicking the "Submit only my new comment" button on the mid-air collision page will no longer result in a "Form field longdesclength was not defined" error. (Bug 591218)Saving a search with either of the deadline fields set to "Now" would cause that deadline field to be removed from the saved search. (Bug 590144)Searching for bugs "with at least X votes" was instead returning bugs with exactly that many votes. (Bug 584414)Typing something like "P1-5" in the quicksearch box should have been searching the Priority field, but it was not. (Bug 585028)Users who had passwords less than 6 characters long couldn't log in. Such users could only exist before 3.6, so it looked like after upgrading to 3.6, certain users couldn't log in. (Bug 575947)Loading config.cgi?ctype=rdf should now be faster, particularly on installations that have many flags. (Bug 553266 and Bug 605693)Non-english templates were not being precompiled by checksetup.pl, leading to reduced performance for localized Bugzilla installations.
