The Canon USA website tells me EOS Utility 2.14.20a-Updater functions on Windows versions up to 8.1. I previously used a 5d Mark III and eos utility 2 on my Dell. I got a new r5 recntly and tried to download photos using eos utility 2. It didn't work so I went on the canon website and downloaded the eos utility 3.I have had nothing but problems with erratic behaviour.I have been downloading my photos into new file folders by date and trying to import them to my computer...It is lodging the files in weird places. Sometimes placing the files in the last folders imported instead of a separate folder under pictures.Sometimes, I go through the procedure and the file disappears altogether.Sometimes when I scroll down the picture list to get to the box to enter the new file name...it shuts down the program software and I have to turn the camera off and reboot it again and redo.Other bizarre things that I can't explain! I have never had any trouble with the eos 2 and my Zoom Browser.I read in the Canon user's manual, after the fact, that you shouldn't try to download photos until the proper eos utility is installed. This is what I did.Anyone have similar problems?What should I do?Uninstall the eos 3 and try to download again?Do I have to uninstall the eos 2 first.Can I use the eos 3 for my 5d Mark III as well? ...my backup camera?Any advice would be appreciated. mikethepike
