If you want to enable 5.1 channel, you would need to have a digital audio decoder or a special driver (I guess you probably have Nahimic installed on your old system...?) to convert digital audio signal into analog 5.1 audio signal. How do I convert optical S/PDIF output to a 5.1 channel? Answer (1 of 4): From the details provided (now in a comment), your problem is that the only 5.1 outputs you have (optical, HDMI) are in digital format but there is no digital input on your budget stereo. To do what you want you need an outboard 5.1 converter. This will take the optical or coaxi... www.quora.com #12 I just wonder why selected Realtek software to decode DTS, Dolby Digital instead of using your receiver, which capable to decode the higher format

Your PC to identify the source of the issue. What audio driver do I use?The audio driver you should use depends on your system’s currently installed sound card. Different types of sound cards will work with different audio drivers. Generally, you can find out what type of sound card is installed on your system by looking in your system’s Device Manager (type ‘Device Manager’ into the Windows Search bar to find it).Once you have identified the sound card, you can search the manufacturer’s website for a compatible driver. Generally, sound cards are manufactured by companies such as Realtek, Creative, Asus, and C-Media, so searching these websites should help you find the appropriate audio driver. You can also perform a Windows update to potentially download the most updated driver version. It’s also important to remember that your operating system may need to be current in order to support the audio driver you choose. Generally, manufacturers will provide a list of operating systems that are compatible with their audio driver, so make sure to check that your operating system is supported before you install the driver. How do I know which Realtek driver to get? When attempting to determine which Realtek driver to get, it is important to consider the make and model of your computer as well as its operating system. Additionally, you should always make sure to check the version of the driver you are downloading to make sure it is the latest version. This is important because Realtek sometimes releases minor updates that may not be compatible with your computer. To make sure you are downloading the correct driver, the first step is to find out the make and model of your computer. Additionally, make sure to check the operating system of your computer, such as Windows 10.You can find the exact name of your operating system by going to the “System” page in the settings.Once you know the exact make and model of your computer and the version of your operating system, the best place to search to find the right driver is on the manufacturer website. Different manufacturers have different names for their drivers but they all list their version of the Realtek driver if it is available. For example, if you have an HP computer, then you would need to visit HP’s website and search for the driver you need. Depending on your computer model, you may find that the driver is included with your device’s operating system or that the manufacturer has a specific driver for the Realtek audio chipset.Once you have obtained the driver from the manufacturer’s website, make sure to always check the version of the driver you are downloading to make sure it is the latest one. New 15 Apr 2023 #1 "Realtek audio" driver makes audio sound terrible. Looking for a fix. When I first got my pc (dell OptiPlex 7040) it came with this audio driver. I disliked the sound of it, which made me search online for something. I found a “realtek-UAD-generic” driver (that I would link here, but I am unaware of the policies regarding links) which, after following the steps it provided, removed that driver and replaced it. It worked beautifully, and gave much cleaner audio. However, my headset's mic does not work with this (it simply does not detect any audio input device/driver) resulting in me reinstalling the proprietary drivers. So, my request is this: Is there any way I can update/replace my current audio driver with one that sounds better, and doesn't stop the mic from working?[Just in case: the headset's audio worked fine (shp-9500), but the mic (v-moda boom pro) is not detected when using the “realtek-uad-generic” driver from online]Winver: Build 19045 New 15 Apr 2023 #2 You probably need DTS Audio Control which should come on that computer or you can get back from the HP website or turn of reverb effects or spatial effects idk you never really specified why it sounds bad to you because it shouldn't otherwise you kind of need to elaborate more, saying something along those line could mean any several things.
