As you’d expect this headset really shines here, and, in CS:GO, my competitive shooter of choice, I had zero issues keeping up with the action. Despite not having any fancy software or spatial sound, all noises were easily placed using good old fashioned stereo inside a closed-back design. my mic is picking up sounds from the pc but it wont pick up my voice

If Discord is picking up both your game audio and your voice, it can mess up your gameplay and chatting with friends. When this happens, your friends or teammates will hear both your voice and the game sounds. This usually happens when system sounds are sent out at the same time, and the input and output audio devices are not correctly separated. Although there can be various causes for this issue, mainly Discord picks up the in-game and system sound due to Stereo Mix being enabled. This is because the Stereo Mix combines output and input audio, resulting in Discord picking up every sound that your computer plays.Other causes can include incorrect microphone settings, faulty audio drivers, or high microphone sensitivity, which can cause the mic to pick up sound from the headset. With these causes in mind, let’s have a look at the solutions to this issue.Quick FixIf you’re using the Realtek Audio Console, make sure to enable Acoustic Echo Cancellation to prevent your microphone from picking up audio from the speaker.1. Disable Stereo MixAs mentioned earlier, Stereo Mix combines all audio output from your system. When this is enabled, Discord can treat it like a microphone, transmitting all system audio along with the voice. By disabling this feature, you stop the merging of the input and output devices, allowing Discord to pick up only your microphone. To do so, right-click the Sound icon and select Sound Settings. Scroll down to the bottom and click More Sound Settings.Go to Recordings, and right-click the Stereo Mix. Select Disable. Once done, check whether Discord is still picking up the in-game audio.2. Reconfigure Output/Input Devices in DiscordIf the incorrect audio device is selected, for example, if you choose Stereo Mix instead of your microphone as an input device, Discord will pick up both your in-game and microphone audio simultaneously. This will result in your teammates hearing both you and your in-game sounds. Therefore, make sure to select the correct input/output devices. Another thing you can do is to enable Noise Suppression and set it to Krisp. This will prevent your headphones from leaking the game audio.Open Discord and go to Settings. Select Voice & Video from the left.Ensure that your microphone is selected in the input device and your headset is selected in the output device. Once done, scroll down to the bottom, enable Noise Suppression, and set it to Krisp. 3. Check and Adjust Microphone SensitivityAdjusting the microphone sensitivity can help reduce background noise, particularly sounds from your headset, from being picked up. If the microphone sensitivity is too low, it can disturb your communication with teammates and affect their game. So make sure the microphone sensitivity is neither set too high nor too Kept in mind while using Discord. These settings are often specific to each computer and operating system. If you still have microphone issues, you can try a few other things. Turn Up the Mic VolumeBecause of privacy concerns, the mic’s volume has been turned down in the most recent version of Discord. You will need to adjust the settings to use your microphone for communication and calls so that the volume is higher. It is how you go about doing it:Now, to unmute the mic, click on the gear icon in the lower left corner of Discord. Select “Voice and Video” from the list of settings. Here, you will find the “Input Volume,” Increase this volume to enhance the Mic volume. You can also use the shortcut of this setting by right-clicking on the Mic icon. Here, you will see the input device volume. Unmute the MicIn PC, we have only one audio source, an output device like a headphone or external microphone. We sometimes take the device off by accident, which makes the Discord mic automatically mute. So, whenever you need to connect the device again, you must unmute this mic. Navigate to the Mic icon and click on it. It will simply unmute the mic.Restart Discord -Run as AdministratorIf your Discord settings are stuck, the best option is to restart Discord and run it as an administrator. An administrator can access the computer’s resources when running a program. This can often fix problems with programs that are not

Then, you have to select the mic manually from the Discord settings. Here’s how to do that:Go to “User Settings” by clicking on the gear icon.Click on “Voice and Video.” Here, you will see an option for “Input Device.”Select the mic that you want to use from the drop-down menu.Restart Voice SettingsVoice settings must be restarted if you have done the wrong device configurations. Hoping that the distance of the u87ai, and the rode nt4 wont make a problem.micheal Registered User Joined: May 2012 Posts: 1 🎧 10 years My engineer used an U87 on my kick only once, although he uses them on toms regularly for sessions with me and others. He placed it a couple feet away from the kick to protect the mic because there was a hole in the front head, which creates an air blast that definitely could damage the mic. (By the way a Shure Beta 91 was inside the kick for articulation.) No disrespect to Crash, but I think the only way it would be safe to place a U87 right up to the kick would be if there was no hole in the front head, which is rare these days of course. My engineer puts U87s right on the toms however, since there is no air blast to worry about. Hope that helps.
