A secondary dial tone is a dial tone-like sound presented to the caller after a call has been set up to prompt for additional digits to be dialed. Secondary dial tones are often used in call queuing and call forwarding systems. Stutter dial tone A stutter dial tone is a rapidly interrupted tone used to indicate special service conditions. To activate Call Forwarding: Listen for a dial tone, and press 72. Listen for a stutter dial tone followed by regular dial tone. Dial the number where you want your calls forwarded.

2025-04-03If you're having problems receiving incoming faxes, follow these steps:1. Press Fax to illuminate the display. Do you see the date & time or is the display blank? - If the date & time, go to step 2. - If blank, refer to Blank Display for further troubleshooting.2. Press Hook and listen for a dial tone. Hook is located to the left of the keypad. - If there is a dial tone, press Hook again, then go to step 3. - If there is no dial tone, press Hook again, then refer to No Dial Tone for further troubleshooting.3. Select the Receive Mode that will work best with your telephone setup. - If your machine is on a dedicated line by itself, use Fax Only Mode. Go to step 4. - If your machine shares a line with telephones, use Fax/Tel Mode. Go to step 5. - If your machine shares a line with an external answering machine, use External TAD Mode. Go to step 7. - If your machine shares a line with a Distinctive Ring subscriber service, use Distinctive Ring Mode. Go to step 10. - If you want to manually answer every fax, use Manual Mode.
