📡 Internet Connection Monitor aka ICM for Google Chrome🎯 ICM IS THE BEST FOR⭐️ Recording and analyzing outages of Internet connection⭐️ Displaying your public IP⭐️ Verifying ISP/provider issues⭐️ Verifying some router/modem/hardware issues💻 FEATURES✅ Precise connectivity test with configurable testing interval✅ Latency measurement✅ Show public IP address✅ Detect when Internet doesn't work over operating Wi-Fi or Ethernet✅ Disconnects, availability and downtime stats✅ Play sound when connection goes online or offline✅ Events log with CSV and PDF export✅ Realtime connectivity and latency monitoring✅ Light and dark themes support✅ Adjustable icons and sounds🚀 NEW IN ICM v5.2➕ Show public IP address➕ On/Off switch to turn the monitoring off➕ Sound themes➕ Stats break-down: Today / 7 days / 30 days / All time👓 FAQ 🌎 Where is the extension icon?A: At some point Google Chrome changed the way extensions are displayed. You need to click on the puzzle icon to the right of the address bar and then pin Internet Connection MonitorQ: What exactly can be monitored?A: The extension monitors the Internet connection and reports 3 statuses: 🟢 Online: Internet connected 🟠 Connection issues or "No Internet connection. Wi-Fi/LAN OK": if Chrome itself cannot properly determine whether Internet connection is down while you're connected to LAN (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) - this status will popup. Most likely, your LAN (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) is connected, but there is no Internet connection behind it. In most cases, it is ISP/provider issue 🔴 Offline or "No Internet connection": Internet disconnected. LAN (Wi-Fi/Ethernet) may work or not, but Internet itself is unavailableQ: How does the extension test the connectivity?A: The extension uses a combination of Chrome internal API and pinging Google servers via https (port 443). It does not expose any open ports or something else that could compromise user's securityQ: What is the testing interval?A: How frequently to ping Google servers to determine the status of Internet connection. The option is configurable: check very 1, 2, 3 or 5 secondsQ: Does this extension have access to my browsing history, etc?A: It does NOT. Moreover, it does not require any special access at all (you can notice that other extensions ask you to give them some permissions during the installation process)Q: Does this extension record my IP address or something else?A: It does NOT. The extension uses API to get the public IP address. Read the Privacy Policy to get a better perspective on your data's privacy: Can this extension measure Internet speed?A: It cannot. Please, use Speedtest by Ookla 🌎 Will it work if Chrome is closed?A: Not, it will not. You need to have a Chrome window open to track your connection log. It's relatively easy to add Chrome to autostart on Windows, Mac or LinuxQ: Will it work if computer is in sleep?A: Yes, it should work, but the mechanism of tracking the disconnects while the computer is in sleep has not been thoroughly tested. Macs, for example, wake up every couple minutes and ICM checks the connection. But do not rely on precise measurement during the computer sleep, keep. It may not display this or other websites correctly. You should upgrade or use an alternative browser. #1 This problem has been bugging me for the past 7 weeks. So, whenever I go onto my computer, My internet works fine, for about 10 seconds. Then, it "disconnects," or so I thought. I checked my ping, and it was working fine. I was getting 12 ms time, with 8.8.8.8. connecting properly. Then, after about twelve of those prompts, I get the message, request timed out, two times, each after 5 seconds of waiting. During that time, I cant connect to anything. I cant browse the internet, I cant go onto any games, I basically cant do anything that requires internet. I diagnosed the problem, but it said connection was fine. Then, I diagnosed it while the connection was off, and it said my setup was correct, but it couldn't connect to the DNS server. I searched it up, and apparently a lot of people had the same thing. BUT I tried manually putting in the DNS 8.8.8.8 in the Internet protocol version 4 (TCP IPv4), but that didn't work. I have searched a ton of stuff, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling my internet card (btw I use wireless) I tried rolling it back, updating it. None of those worked. I tried getting a new internet card, a better one. My connection was better, yeah, but I was having the same problem. I tried restarting my router, that didn't work. I also tried resetting my DNS server. You guessed it, that didn't work either. I tried changing my Mac Address, that didn't work. (Btw, i changed it back.) I have literally searched the whole internet for a solution, and im pretty much ready to give up. I dont know whats wrong. I started having this problem randomly, just out of the blue. I wasn't installing anything that day, the internet didn't go out that day, it was a perfectly normal day, then my internet started acting up. I have no idea what is wrong. I also tried that one thing where you Un-check the box that says "Allow this device to turn off this other device to save power." After doing that, Wow you're so good at this, It still didn't work. This is in regards to how dissatisfied I am with the quality of your Dell laptops. I’ve been buying Dell computers for 25+ years and have never owned anything other than a Dell. However it seems like in the last few years the quality of Dell products has deteriorated immensely. In November of 2017 I purchased a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 at a cost of $720. From the very first time I plugged it in the cooling fan ran nonstop at high RPM. I searched the Dell site for a fix and all I found was to double check that the laptop was running the latest BIOS, which I did. Well, unsurprisingly, after less than a year the fan wore out and started making terrible noises. I replaced the fan and it seemed fine for the next 1+ years, however now the fan is bad again and needs to be replaced. In addition to the having to replace the cooling fan for the 3rd time, both USB ports on the left side of the machine are shorted. With only the slightest movement whatsoever, whatever is connected to these two ports disconnects. I have a Dell Universal docking station which includes an external hard drive in one port and typically an iPhone plugged into the other. Throughout the day the docking station randomly disconnects and reconnects which disconnects my external hard drive and corrupts my backup. Yesterday I had my iPhone plugged into the other second USB port while it was running an iOS update. The port disconnected and caused the update to be interrupted and my iPhone crashed. Spent the next 2 hrs restoring my phone. Very, very frustrating…… In December of 2019 I purchased a Inspiron 15 5000 at a cost of $657 for my girlfriend as a Christmas gift. Less than a month after giving it to her, in early January, the laptop died and would not power back up. I contacted Dell support and had to ship it back where they replaced the mother board. Since receiving it back from service, the computer seems to be very, very slow and takes roughly 4 minutes just to boot up. When I look at what processes are running the only thing I see is Microsoft's antimalware. Additionally the built in mouse pad is very “flakey” and has a built iin lag making it almost unusable. She stopped using the computer a few months ago because she said that it is "unusable" and instead uses her iPad for whatever she needs to do. Very disappointing…… Both of these computers are personal use only, with light use and never leave our desks. Like I stated, I have been buying Dell computers for more that 25 years and have purchased many. However, based on my experience with these last two purchases I will not be purchasing another. ☹ FSBComputer will randomly disconnect from internet through - Reddit

Thnx for reading and i hope for some solution! Jun 12, 2013 14,847 9 81,765 #3 First and foremost check the Ethernet cableAs suggested check to modem and router to see if they dropped connection.Do you have a second wired device you can hookup to test? #4 Well for if i have another device i do have my PS4 and that never disconnects and it is wired and i use it the entire time. as for the modem lights i do sometimes see it flash orange when i have my computer connected and sometimes green.I try and find a ethernet cable and test if it disconnects #6 Ok so i tried with another wire and the light is all orange and it disconnects more and more frequantly! soooooo i don't know! can it be the network card of my motherboard!
