The fact that I have a 3100 puzzle rating, an IQ of 136 (top 0.8%), and I practice for HOURS every day, and STILL my blitz and rapid rating just keeps dropping.. Just stupid. Yes, it can reach you some basic tactics. But after you have learned the basics, doing additional puzzles does nothing except help you to do puzzles faster. remember, in a real chess game, no one is there to tell you that there is a tactic that wins. also, working puzzles does not hel you learn to get positions in which a tactical trick may be available. my advice is, after you have done a hundred or so puzzles, stop and use your time to study chess more productively. mikewier wrote:
