In most cases, the audio runs fine, but for a few, there’s no sound as well on YouTube. Additionally, some see a white glow on YouTube in Opera GX!The underlying causes for YouTube not working on Opera GX include issues with hardware acceleration, conflicting extensions, corrupt browsing data, problems with the installed GPU driver, and misconfigured settings.To start with, I recommend you update Opera GX to the latest version, use another YouTube account, or switch the browser profile. If YouTube shows a black screen when opting for Full-Screen mode in Opera GX, first press T to enable Theatre mode and then F for the Full-Screen mode. The workaround seemingly worked for many.How do I fix Opera GX’s black screen while running YouTube?1. Disable hardware accelerationLaunch the browser, click on the Opera menu near the top left, and select Settings.Scroll down, click on Advanced to view more settings, and then turn off the toggle for Use graphics acceleration when available.For video-playing issues, whether with YouTube or any streaming platform, your primary approach should be to disable hardware acceleration in Opera GX. Black Screen with audio - YouTube

I am having an issue with the YouTube app on our Roku. It is a Roku Express.Everything works fine on the system except when we try to play a YouTube video. We can select the video. When we scroll over a video, the preview plays. But when we select the video, there is no video, just audio and a black screen. If we pause, the progress bar appears and the video is paused, with other suggested videos appearing below. However, even if we select one of THOSE videos, the same thing occurs (video is black, but playing).I have tried restarting the Roku through System, restarting the Roku by unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for several minutes, deleting the YouTube app and reinstalling it, and completely resetting the Roku device to factory. Nothing helps.Other apps (at least the ones we have installed like Netflix, Disney+, etc.) play video just fine. The problem seems to be with the YouTube app itself, but I can't figure out why it just started happening or how to fix it.Any idea what the issue could be?

However...instead of having to actually watch the ads, you just sit there for the time it normally would take to watch the ads...only the screen is black and you don't have to watch a thing! Shame, it was best ad blocker so far cthulhu26 last edited by Opera GX's integrated blocker blocks ads at the beginning, middle and end of videos; It has also been working well on the other pages, however, at the end of 2023, YouTube has been replacing all videos on the suggestion list (7 of them at least, so far) with ads. I believe that the addition of this Adblock extension to the Opera GX browser is completely unnecessary.
