A Party is an army, but in Bannerlord, Armies are what are called a group of Parties. A Party is the leader plus whatever soldiers they are allowed to have. Each Party greatly increases the player's power. By this point I could lead one hundred and seventy soldiers, and my three parties were each worth around another hundred. They patrol the map, concerned with their own missions, but are best during war. Whenever your nation's Sultan declares an ill advised war, and they do this often, powerful lords form Armies.The player can join an army or form their own. On the Army screen the player expends Influence to force friendly Parties to join their Army. Companion Parties join for free, no Influence required. In Warband, there were no armies. The player could convince other lords to go somewhere or follow them based on their reputation. Sometimes a King would tell all his lords to follow him. Bannerlord removes the guesswork by using concrete numbers. An Army only remains together for a limited time. Once formed the Army displays a cohesion meter that slowly drains. The player can spend more Influence to refill it, but when it is empty, the Parties leave the Army.The most common use of an Army is to siege territory. Approaching an enemy City or Castle begins a boring minigame. Both sides build siege weapons of different types.
