Dear Awakening Family,What an incredible year we’ve had together! As we reflect on 2024, we are in awe of the ways God has worked through our community and your generosity to awaken new life in Jesus across the Bay Area and beyond. This year, we’ve seen the power of God’s love changing lives—like this story of a mom in our community. In March, a mom nervously attended Awakening for the first time, leaving her 2-year-old son in childcare—a leap of faith she had never taken before. Week after week, she returned, drawn by the kindness and hope she found here. This year, she made the life-changing decision to follow Jesus, and at Awakening’s birthday celebration, surrounded by her new church family, she boldly declared her faith through baptism. Today, she serves in our kids’ ministry, passionately sharing the love of Jesus with the next generation.Along with her story (and many more like it), here’s just a glimpse of what God has accomplished through your giving this year:Lives transformed: We’ve celebrated 27 Baptisms, 75+ Gospel Invitation Responses, 426 Prayer Requests, 307 New Visitors to Awakening, and 200+ people in groups.Serving our city: Through our partnership with CityTeam, we provided over 77,467 meals, representing 92,960 lbs. of food to 2,324 family units.Next Generation: We saw 50 new college students attend this fall, 50+ teens actively engaged in our youth ministry with 8 baptized, and 85 kids attending Camp Wonder, bringing the Gospel to the whole family. Loving our neighbors: At Del Mar High School, we’ve had the privilege to come alongside and help several families in a significant financial crisis. We provided 84 backpacks, covered 45 students’ college application fees, and much more!Through your generosity, God’s power has been on full display. Together, we’ve seen what happens when we surrender our resources for His purposes: lives are changed, hearts are healed, and hope is restored. As we look to finish 2024 strong, would you prayerfully consider an above-and-beyond gift to help us carry this momentum into the new year? Your generosity will allow us to continue fulfilling God’s unique calling for Awakening Church. To make

Leading the wayin unleashing extravagant generosity*Give instantly or schedule a recurring gift. Why Give?We believe that the Church should lead the way in unleashing extravagant generosity to a hurting and broken world because we have an extravagantly generous God.As a community, we take joy in the ways our faith grows and gets stronger through giving together. This includes sharing the love of God in tangible ways in our city and bringing measurable change to places in need, both locally and globally. In answering the call to live generously, we invite God to shape us into a people who live by faith, are known by love, and strive to be a voice of hope to those around us.Your generosity in giving to Awakening Church provides an opportunity for us to partner together in our mission to awaken this generation to new life in Christ. What is Tithing? The Scriptures teach us this very important principle: the first of everything belongs to God.Tithing, which means we give God the first ten percent of our income, is the primary way we acknowledge that God is first in our lives. The word “tithe” literally means “tenth” or 10%. Tithing isn’t merely giving something to God. It’s giving back what was His to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from Him.The Scriptures teach us that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. The Bible challenges us to put God first in our lives everyday. (See Proverbs 3:9, 10; Matthew 6:33).Give OnlineGive instantlyThe Awakening Community Church - Muhlenberg

Tara-Leigh Cobble | Courtesy of Bonnie HartwigFor years, conversations about the decline of biblical literacy and waning church attendance have dominated discussions among faith leaders — but Tara-Leigh Cobble’s podcast ”The Bible Recap” has transformed the way people engage with Scripture, proving that hunger for the Word of God is far from dead.“The Bible Recap” podcast has consistently ranked at the top of Apple’s charts — at times surpassing even cultural juggernaut Joe Rogan’s podcast — drawing millions of listeners each month. Her book series, study guides and children’s materials are consistently among Amazon’s top 100 books. As of December 2024, sales of The Bible Recap books had nearly doubled compared to the previous year. “It has blown me away,” Cobble told The Christian Post. “This is a tool that has helped individuals, churches, people, come closer to the Lord, and the reason it's selling well is because those people won't stop talking about it. They will not stop talking about how God has used it in their lives and in their hearts. Marriages have been transformed. People have turned back from suicide. Children have come to Christ.Get Our Latest News for FREESubscribe to get daily/weekly email with the top stories (plus special offers!) from The Christian Post. Be the first to know.“It’s just incredible what the Lord is doing through this and in individual hearts and lives,” she added. “When our hearts and lives are transformed, we don't shut up about it. We just keep talking, and we want to tell everybody. And so, the people that are hearing — it's whetting their appetite. What I see happening is an awakening within the Church that is piquing the curiosity outside the Church."The podcaster revealed she recently received an email from a Jewish woman who came to Christ through "The Bible Recap." "She wanted to start [the podast] and see what I had to say about the Old Testament. She kept going, and she met Jesus. The Lord is using this tool in the Church to spark a fire outside the Church," she said. Cobble shared how her own journey with Scripture was far from effortless. Despite growing up in the church, she struggled to read through the Bible until a pastor friend guided her through it, answering questions along the way. After completing it on her own multiple times, she realized something crucial: people weren’t failing to read the.
