No Avast! Toolbar in Outlook

#HOW DO I GET RID OF AVAST SAFE ZONE INSTALL# #HOW DO I GET RID OF AVAST SAFE ZONE SOFTWARE# I upgraded through the program itself and it didn’t ask me about Chrome, nor did it install Chrome on my computer. If you did accidentally install it, go uninstall it through Programs and Features in Control Panel. I looked at the above screenshot and see NOTHING deceptive about it. It has become second nature to many of us to intentionally do a “Custom Installation” just to ensure we don’t have 26 “toolbars” on our internet browser. #HOW DO I GET RID OF AVAST SAFE ZONE SOFTWARE# I’ve never had any trouble with Avast – that is to say, never had an infection the bring my system to it’s knees nor did Avast itself bring the system to it’s knees w/ a huge resource footprint or the like.įor years and years reputable software companies have bundled other software (whether it’s Chrome browser or some toolbar), in with their free installations. These boxes are checked by default, so that Avast 7 will install Google Chrome on the system and make it the default browser on the system. The lower quarter of the screen advertises Google Chrome, and displays two selection boxes. The very same page lists another program that will be installed if Avast users do not pay attention to the menu. Express basically installs the antivirus software with the default settings, compatible installs it as a second line of defense in addition to other security software running on the system, while custom install offers the means to select the program modules that you want to install. When you run the Avast 7 installer, you are greeted with a start screen where you can select the express, compatible or custom install options. From what you say is avast firewall is blocking Chrome from accessing this site cannot be as you are turning off WebShield in order to access using Chrome. WebShield and your firewall are not the same thing. If it was your firewall blocking Chrome it would not work anywhere, not even this one particular site. Are you sure this warning is not a phishing attempt to get you to visit a malicious site elsewhere?A screenshot of this warning would help (provided you have WebShield turned on). Is it just me (Win7x64 Pro SP1 and XP PRO SP3) — or did Avast’s AdBlocker extension “disappear” from [and thereby stop working in] today’s Firefox 21 update??? system May 14, 2013, 10:24pm 2 …me too Win Vista 64bit/SP2/Avast Free/FF 21.0 Same here . . . Updated Firefox to version 21.0 and no more AdBlocker . . . I just updated FF to Version 21 but I don’t use Avast’s AdBlocker. I use AB+, an extension in FF. system May 15, 2013, 12:03am 5 Software Updater also reports Mozilla Firefox’s new version as v 20.0.1 - (Guess everything takes time to be updated.)I checked thinking FX v 21.0 had made a change to their “Options” folder, but do not see anything about Avast! Ad Blocker being removed. Avast! Ad Blocker always had appeared as a Firefox “Add-On” prior to FX v 21.0Ron - W3FSY system May 15, 2013, 12:07am 6 This is completely normal behavior. Give them time to update. Firefox just go updated today. You can use ABP instead anyways. It also has more features and customizations. Norton fans are always complaining when the Norton toolbar does not work as soon as new version of there browser comes out. A week later its fixed. Simion May 15, 2013, 12:20am 7 No, it’s not. Firefox 21.0 Beta has been out for six weeks now, the dev builds even longer. Besides, why do my other 14 extensions work if this is normal? ??? system May 15, 2013, 12:30am 8 It is normal. Check the Symantec forums. Check Kaspersky forums. Why make it such an issue when you can just use Ad Block Plus extension on its own. The minute a new version of Firefox or Chrome comes does not mean that Avast has to be on top of it. Gezzz. I
