Thanks both of you for the correction. I have striked through the mistake. Now I need to take the test drive and see how it sounds. Thanks for catching this. 30 Apr 2013 01:27:48 GMTRe:AOM Invisible Limiter (yorolpal) Isn't Pro-L...er...Pro-L??? 29 Apr 2013 22:54:15 GMTRe:AOM Invisible Limiter (Eddie TX) cecelius2 [Edited: Just read Eddie TX post on the main forum where he compares it to Ozone. Still interesting that AOM did not compare it to Fabfilter's Pro-L.] Um, I may be wrong, but I think "Pro-L" in the audio demo refers to the FabFilter limiter. Anyway, the real test is to try it for yourself. The demo plugin is fully functional and not time-limited. It just mutes the signal every 30 seconds. If you decide to buy, you can opt for the $25 1-year license instead of the $99 lifetime -- if you find nothing better by the time it expires, you can upgrade and make it yours forever for the same total cost. Or I suppose you could just buy another year if you prefer. I like this pricing model. Speaking of AOM, they just came out with an EQ: I just downloaded its demo, so I haven't fully tested it yet. But my first impression is that it is certainly transparent. Good stuff! Cheers, Eddie 29 Apr 2013 22:37:00 GMTRe:AOM Invisible Limiter (cecelius2) Wow. That is audibly better. I might download the demo. The price is a little odd: $25 for a year license or $99 for lifetime. They give audio comparisons to several limiters, but not to Ozone or Fabfilter; these are the ones they give comparisons for: Invisible Limtier (1x) Invisible Limtier (16x) Pro-L (1x) Pro-L (4x) FG-X Precision Limiter Oxford Limiter L2 L3 Ultra L3-16 [Edited: Just read Eddie TX post on the main forum where he compares it to Ozone. {Corrected below so I am striking this out} Still interesting that AOM did not compare it to Fabfilter's Pro-L. ] 29 Apr 2013 21:49:21 GMTRe:AOM Invisible Limiter (yorolpal) Listened to the demos and it sounds pretty dang good. Hmmmmm. 29 Apr 2013 21:27:23 GMTRe:AOM Invisible Limiter (Eddie TX) I answered in the main forum, but suffice it to say that the AOM limiter is well worth a demo. It's currently my go-to. S Configure SSH Server Sets a session idle timeout (in seconds) for the AOM SSH server. Available values are 0 (no timeout; default value), or between 30 and 86400 (one day). A Reset AOM Resets the AOM subsystem. In this case, the system is reset with a hardware reset. F5 does not recommend using this option under normal circumstances. It does not allow for graceful shutdown of the system. Q Quit menu and return to console Exits the AOM Command Menu and returns to terminal emulation mode. Create an AOM admin user account If you would like to access AOM over the network rather than using the serial console, you need to create an AOM admin user account. This account is created on the AOM subsystem only and is not saved to your BIG-IP system configuration. Connect to the system using the serial console. Create an admin user account: On a newly configured BIG-IP system, type aom_setup_user. On a previously configured BIG-IP system, type aom_setup_user -o to override the existing AOM admin user account. Type the username you want. Type the required password. Type the new password again to confirm it.When the account creation is successful, a message similar to this one displays: AOM username aom-admin successfully set and enabled. 2025-04-06The Sonnox Oxford Limiter Plug-In, developed from decades of professional audio experience to provide a very high degree of quality and facility in program loudness control and limiting functions. Having crafted and refined your mix, join the growing number of professionals who have made the Oxford Limiter their default last insertion on stereo groups and mix buses alike. Whether you're after transparent peak limiting, loudness maximization or heavier creative effects, this Plug-In delivers. Advanced look-ahead processing and the unique Enhance function provide the sample-value limiting needed to reliably avoid clipping. Meter for and automatically correct otherwise invisible reconstruction overloads to confidently produce maximum levels and punch, whilst retaining clarity and transient detail. By employing highly accurate logarithmic side chain processing, along with innovative adaptive timing functionality using look ahead signal acquisition, the limiter provides exemplary performance, whether one is seeking general transparent level control, program loudness maximization or heavily applied artistic sound effects. Unique processing in the form of the Enhance function provides the sample value limiting needed to reliably avoid overloads in digital workstation environments and allows unprecedented volume and punch to be applied to program beyond that available from conventional limiting functions. Comprehensive metering is provided which displays not only conventional peak sample value, but additionally allows the user to monitor the true validity of the program in order to avoid the generation of damaging reconstruction overloads in the target equipment which are often invisible during production (sometimes termed 'inter sample peaks'). A further function allows the user to dynamically correct for reconstruction overloads in real time, thereby achieving maximum possible modulation levels without the risks of producing illegal signals often associated with compression and limiting. Comprehensive dithering functionality with selectable and variable depth noise shaping ensures first class mastering output quality in either 24 bit or 16 bit modes. At the prompts, type values for IP address (required), netmask (required), and gateway (optional). A confirmation message displays the configured management IP address, netmask, and gateway. Type i to verify the assigned addresses. Access the AOM Command Menu using SSH Before you access the AOM Command Menu using SSH, you must assign a management IP address, netmask, and gateway for AOM. You can assign the addresses manually or with DHCP. You must also create an AOM admin user account. You can access the AOM Command Menu remotely using SSH from a management workstation that is connected to the same subnet as the platform's management (MGMT) interface. On this platform, AOM allows only one SSH connection at a time. Open an SSH session, where aom-username> is the AOM admin user account that you configured for the system, and ip-address> is the IP address that you configured for AOM.ssh aom-username>@ip-address> Type the previously configured AOM user password. Open the AOM Command Menu. Set an SSH idle session timeout You can specify a timeout value (in seconds) for idle AOM SSH sessions. You can access the AOM Command Menu using either a serial console or SSH. Connect to the system using the serial console. Open the AOM Command Menu. Type s to configure a timeout value for idle SSH sessions. Type a timeout value. The default value is 0 (no timeout). Available values are 0, or between 30 and 86400 (one day). Disable network configuration You can connect to the system's serial console to disable SSH access to AOM over the network. This does not affect console access to AOM. Connect to the system
