II. XFlows Tasksa. File filtersA file filter is a regular expression for extracting only a subset of adirectory content. It is used by many tasks for filtering asource directory .For sample : (.*)\.* : Means all the files with a file extension (.*).xml : Means all the files terminating by xml (.*).html : Means all the files terminating by html When the file filter field is empty, this regular expression is used"(.*)\.*".By running a task working on a source directory, the task will geteach file name and will test if this one matches the regularexpression, if this is not the case the file will be ignored. Thus byusing for sample "(.*).dat" it means we process only the filesterminated by "dat".The parenthesis are important becauseit gives information on how a result name can be built from a sourcename. For sample if you have a file name "test.xml" and if you apply atransformation, you would like a "test.html" file, and this is not onlythe case for this file but for all the.
