Track of dark images with mattes. This is especially useful for CG, masked and/or keyed material. (Not available for Smoke, Flame)Track Point Guidance – Up to 12 user-defined points can be specified to help guide Twixtor’s motion estimation. By using the tracking points you can explicitly tell Twixtor where a pixel moves from one frame to the next in order to guide Twixtor’s calculation of motion vectors. (Not available for Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas ProSpline Guidance – When Twixtor exhibits tracking problems, you can guide Twixtor by simply creating and animating shapes to show Twixtor where objects are actually moving. Interactive feature registration is directed by using the host program’s splines. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro, FCPX, Nuke, Premiere Pro, Scratch)Motion Vector Import – Give Twixtor motion vectors generated elsewhere (like from a 3D system) to time remap footage, including adding motion-interpolated fields to otherwise progressive material. (Not available with Catalyst Edit, Hitfilm, Movie Studio, Natron, Nucoda, Vegas Pro, FCPX)Motion Vectors Export – Ability to output the motion vectors that Twixtor generates internally. This powerful feature comes with visual debugging modes to more intuitively assess and tune the quality of the motion estimation. The motion vectors can then be used elsewhere in the pipeline. To limit climate change, countries and companies are increasingly committing to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Achieving this goal could boost demand for new alternatives to existing ones, for instance, lithium-ion batteries, on a large scale.Sodium-ion batteries could be a great alternative to lithium, but nobody has managed to build a commercially viable NA-ion battery so far. Now, a California company Natron has partnered with Clarios International to manufacture the world’s first mass-produced sodium-ion batteries.Natron Energy’s sodium-ion battery products are based on a unique Prussian blue electrode chemistry for a wide variety of industrial power applications ranging from critical backup power systems to EV fast charging and behind-the-meter applications. Natron claims that its design offers a strong volumetric power density somewhere between that of lead-acid and lithium-ion, with super-fast charging enabling 0-99% charges in as little as eight minutes and a significantly longer cycle life of over 50,000 cycles – between five and 25 times greater than lithium-ion competitors. Also, they’re claimed to be extremely thermally stable, making them safe to transport, deploy and dispose of without risk of fire. The Clarios Meadowbrook facility will become the world’s largest sodium-ion battery plant when mass production begins in 2023. Currently, these facilities are for lithium-ion batteries, and it says its sodium-ion batteries can be manufactured using the same tools and equipment. With support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s ARPA-E agency through the SCALEUP program, Natron will install new cell assembly equipment in the Clarios Meadowbrook plant to enable mass production of sodium-ion cells for its customers in the industrial power market. The company’s mission is to transform industrial and grid energy storage markets by providing customers with lower cost, longer-lasting, more efficient, safer batteries. It is not the first time that this alternative has been used. Last year, the Chinese company CATL launched a sodium-ion battery for the electric vehicle market, with a specific energy of 160 Wh/kg, more than half of the density offered by current lithium batteries.

Or the excellent collaboration tools that would make working with graphic designers and other team members a little smoother.Premiere Pro – ShotcutShotcut is a free, open-source video editing solution available for Mac, Linux, and Windows. Developed by Meltytech in 2011, Shotcut has a long and ever-improving feature set that shares many of the same functions found in Adobe Premiere Pro.Shotcut is a good solution for those who want a simple video editor to add basic overlays, manage different clips, or do basic entry-level work. While the basic features of both applications work largely in the same way, users may find that the wider support from plugin creators and other professional organizations Premiere Pro benefits from would be ideal.Anyone serious about high-quality video production might want to consider one of the paid options, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, as other areas of video production are generally relatively expensive, and you will probably want to make the most out of that footage.XD Alternative – LunacyLunacy is a free and open-source vector-based UX/UI design application with a robust professional-level feature set that is mainly targeting web developers and graphic designers.Lunacy works offline, has cloud sharing, and has been translated into 16 languages. It includes many free assets such as icons and symbols and has full compatibility with .sketch files for even more community-driven functionality. If your team doesn’t require the collaboration benefits of working within the Adobe Creative Cloud, Lunacy is an excellent alternative that will be free forever. After Effects Alternative – NatronNatron is a free and open-source node-based video compositing software comparable to Adobe After Effects, which is similar but has some significant differences in that it is a layer-based software. The difference between the two types of software typically comes in the workflow. Layer-based compositions can get quite large but generally are easier to work with for shorter compositions, and thus they are usually used for TV and commercials.Node-based compositions have a smaller overall file size and are more suited to movies and film when working with longer compositions. It is, therefore, a great idea to start learning node-based compositing with Natron over Adobe After Effects if that is your end goal.Unfortunately, Natron does have many bugs and stability issues due to the complexity of the project and the general lack of funding.Audition Alternative – AudacityAudacity is a powerful, free, open-source multi-track audio editor available on Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and more, which has proved RE:Vision Effects, Inc., acclaimed effects plug-ins industry leader and makers of Emmy and Academy Award-winning software, is pleased to introduce RE:Map v4. It's being done already... and the guys making it are making it hybrid layer/node, which is the holy grail. It's layers which are just stacked nodes in the background, but you can open it up in nodes if you need deeper integration than you could get with optical processes. I'm not sure what/where they are now, or if it failed....But After Effects leaning into motion graphics is definitely shooting itself in the foot. Motion graphics is low hanging fruit, easy in blender, and someone spun up cavalry, a dedicated free after effects killer for mograph, in like 2 years.Compositing is all they have... and now that After effects can't be trusted as a professional tool (mandatory breaking updates, buggy releases, degrading performance, poor hardware utilization and scaling), the mograph scene has Cavalry and Blender, and the VFX crew has jumped ship to node based Nuke and its free open source clone Natron, and the 3D crowd has more tools than it knows what to do with (Blender, Maya, Unreal, C4D, houdini, embergen, 10 interchangeable plug and play renderers) it's only the stubborn fanboys and youtube tutorial scene that actually use After effects for anything at all these days.Even I only keep it around to access my old renders, and I'm looking to replace it ASAP. I even migrated one of them to Nuke. AE has nothing for me but some slight fading nostalgia of my first VFX in high school..
